Ever since I put in my GM MAFT my car idles like shit almost everytime i stop my car turns off. I think it might be the settings I have but i dunno. I control the A/F ratio with the AFC II, so what settings would i put on the maf translator? i have a 3.5" sensor thing.

If someone could IM me on AIM to help me out please do, my screen name is Iryoku Legend.

If you're using your S-AFC to tune, then you should zero out the MAF-T. Also, how do you have it set up? Draw-through or blow-through?

Any clue what the zero'ed out setting is for the 3.5" sensor? I think i zero'ed it out but im not 100% sure if its right.

And I believe im using blowthrew (sorry not good with terms) its in the pipes for the SMIC, not the air intake.

Also i dont think i reset the ECU when I installed it. But I did it today (took t he positive side of the battery out for like 15 min) but still idles like crap.

1)If it's zero'd out, then all of the pots should be pointing to 12:00.

2)If your MAF is in your IC piping, then you're running a blow-through setup.

3)You can try setting your MAF-T up for your injectors, then zero'ing out the AFC and fine-tuning with it. Sometimes that works better for people than zero'ing out the MAF-T.

When you say all the pots should be pointing to 12:00 u mean all the circle things should be on 12?

Also the MAFT doesnt support the stock injectors 390s (A/T)... I have 550cc ones which im waiting to put in the car when i get my 16g big turbo

"Pot" is an abbreviation of "potentiometer." All of the little knobs that click and turn in the MAF-T need to be set to 12:00 (0).

If you have 550's, go ahead and put them in and set the MAF-T to 550cc.

what would be t he settings for the 550's?

there is the 1 knob by itself then the 4 together.

also what settings would i put the jumper switches to?

would the base idle mid a nd wot all be the same settings?

A manual came with your MAF-T. It will give you all of that information. I don't have all of the settings for a MAF-T memorized. You can probably download the manual somewhere online if you've lost it.

ok i found the manual, but to zero it out with the MAFT the settings is C for the BASE knob, so will i put C for idle, mid a nd wot too? and j ust use t he AFC t o tune it from there?

also do i have to rese t the ECU again?

sorry last 2 questions im just a newbie in training hehe

Yes, zero out everything. But like I said, I would go ahead and put in my 550's and work from there. MID & WOT are exactly what they say they are: part throttle (MID) and full throttle (WOT). Set them accordingly.

I'd reset my ECU just to make sure the playing field is level.

normally i wouldn't suggest this but you don't sound too knowledgeable.<<<and i can't spell!! We see that ## running blow thru but where exactly is your blow off valve? and is it vented or recirculated? Mine idles like shit if i vent after the MAF. changed that already...just throwing ideas at you hope it helps.

On my maft you have to have the four mode switches in the right position for a 3.5" mas. Actually it is only the first two for 3" in know that it is the first two both off and for 4" in both on but for 3.5" one has to be on and one has to be off. This might help as your ecu could be thinking you are getting less air than what you are if you just have it set for a 3" in.

yeah little beeper in a newbie, i dont know terms, but its the only way to learn right?

I put my 550cc injectors in, and reset the MAFT for the 550cc injectors (i put the base to C which is for 550, aux is 0). The car still idles bad, any other suggestions?

These are the jumper settings
1 2 3 4
(on,off,off,off)

Your jumper settings are correct for the 3.5" maf. You said your car is an auto, right? Try going down on your base(b, a, 9,etc) and see if that helps with your issues. If you set it up by the book, that was under the assumption that your car came with 450cc injectors. Since yours came with 390, when you set the base to a 550, your car should be running lean. You will have to lower the base to richen it up to compensate for the fact that the ecu is programmed for smaller injectors. Make sense?

Do you have a logger? If not, you need to get one. If so, what are the ltft at?

wow ever since i put my 550 injectors now my car smokes out of the exhaust like crazy, im tired of this car -_-
