Gm maf translator 2g on 1g???

I got a maf translator for my 1g and its a 2g plug and instructions... can i cut the plugs off and wire it in?

sounds like you got the 2G unit. The best solution would be to contact the vendor you got it from and exchange if for the correct one.

But, you can just wire it in if you like.

i guess my question is not the wiring but will the settings be the same since its the 2g unit?

The 2.x series translators have the same software inside. You will need the 1G instructions for the setting details. So it will work just fine.
