Is there any difference in installing the GM 3" Maf on the intake pipe instead of the UICP like most people do? I bought the SBR FMIC kit with the blowthrough UICP but somehow SBR sent me the regular piping instead of the piping for the GM maf. I was going to call SBR but i don't want to wait another week or so for them so I was thinking of just putting the GM maf on the intake. So what do you guys think? Should I wait for the UICP blowthrough setup or should I install it on the intake? Thanks for the advice.

Well if you install it on the UICP, the main reason people do it is for venting the BOV to the atmosphere it seems, which of course is every DSM'ers dream ROFL (j/k)
Also, kind of neat is that the blow through UICP MAF lets your car read the air correctly if there are vac leaks before the Throttle Body, so say, if you get a leak somewhere before the MAF, you can probably limp the car home ok :sneaky:

I had mine on the intake pipe at first, until I had some extra time to 'modify' my dejon tool UICP for the GM MAF. Then moved up there. No difference.

Not really any difference, but if you ordered the blow through I would just wait for them to send you the right one! :dsm:

Where does the Purple wire on the MAF Translator go to? The instruction manual doesn't mention anything. Help

The "purple" wire is a trigger wire for something like N2O or Water injection, or Propane injection, When it is connected to a 12v source that activates when one of those systems activates it will modify the AirFlow signal to the ecu to compensate for N2O or Water/Propane injection. For a Car without any of the above, you leave it disconnected.

You can install it at the intake (known as a draw-thru setup). Just remember, you will need to recirculate your BOV if you put it there. Some people prefer installing it there versus a blow-thru setup. You shouldn't see a loss in engine response or performance installing it this way.
