Well i talked to this very respectful shop in my area about my 3 glowshift gauges being installed. He told me about 2 hours of work, but as he looked more into it he said 2 of them had to be run into the computer to be installed right. He said you could get around not hooking it up like that but itll risk burning out your computer

is this right?

Only gauge you have that requires taping into is the A/f gauge that taps into the oxygen sensor signal wire. All the gauges you have are a pretty straight forward to install. You should try to install them your self . There are a lot installation threads on the board you should try doing a search and save your self some money.

He may not be dumb, but mislead. You should really do these yourself, it's not that hard. There's post everywhere about installing gauges, to assist you.

Do some research and save some leafy green. You can do it. :thumb:

Take the money you save from not having him rip you off, sell the AF to some ricer and go buy a wideband.

Do you have additional sensors that go with each of these gauges? If you do not, then the boost is really a calculation provided by the ecu (we don't actually have an accurate sensor stock and it compares the load and wastegate calcs), the A/F is just getting the signal from the narrowband sensor going to the ecu, and the oil pressure gauge can easily be tapped from anywhere.

Technically he's just tapping all those lines from the ECU position because that's the easiest place to track them all. Have you ever tried tracing one of those under-dash wires!?

Do it yourself its all tapping which anyone can do, and off the subject but autozone is the worst store i have ever been to they are idiots at least in my town they are, sorry they really ticked me off for the last time i will never go there again.

Just because he has a A/F gauge don't make a ricer. Use the current gauges you have now, if you wanna, or buy a wide band. Wide band is some what pricey.

Either way having a A/F is better than not having anything.

Uhmmm I think the minor weight reduction for that gauge would be more beneficial then actually hooking it up.

Aka, its pretty much completely useless.

I just did mine not too long ago. I have the same brand as you. It's actually not that hard. I hooked mine up to the dimmer switch and instead of them dimming or getting brighter, they change colors. There is a article on how to do it. Follow the instructions that came with the guages and you'll be fine.

How do you come to the conclusion of your opinion that there useless. Because since 1000's of people own and use this set up, makes your comment an opinion, not a fact.

I am not trying to argue here. But why bash something he has and mislead him to thinking what he already has is junk. According to you, all the A/F gauges or for ricers and wannabe's. Not true. He asked how to hook them up, not if they were ricer gauges.
