Alright guys.. Short little story for you. I pick this girl up and she starts talking about how she loves fast cars and was curious to see what my car can do. Well, I usually don't push my car too hard as I rarely have reason to other than the occasional street race for fun. However, she lived on a country road with some nice curves and I figured what the hell.. Might as well.. Right? Well, I make a couple of trips up and down the road getting used to it, then this BMW with a body kit rolls by and we start racing down this road. As soon as this BMW shows up things get serious. As we're cutting through these corners I smell a slight burn. I figure hey, somethings wrong and I let off. Well the slight burn keeps up as I bring my car to a stop on a side road. The brakes felt normal, however my car was braking at about 25% of it's usual ability. It wasn't like I had a brake line leak and my pedal went to the floor, the brake pedal gave resistance as usual but just didn't seem to be gripping like they usually do. I let the car sit for about 10 minutes as I check things out under the hood and everything seemed normal, the smell didn't seem to be coming from underneath the hood. I take it really easy on my way back home, and as the car cooled down my braking ability came back. After about 15 minutes of easy driving my brakes were back to 100%. I just put new brake pads on a few months back.. Did the pads just heat up? What happened?
