strange brake problem?????

ok, here's the problem: whe I was coming home of work, my brake light came on so, later that day I drove it totally forgeting about it (to much on my mind) I found out that I had no brakes so, I just thought there was air in the line so, I bleed the brakes and now everytime I hit the brakes the engine dies or tries to die, and the brakes are still spongy. could someone please help me whit this????

its possible that a vaccuum line is kinked/corroded. check them and make sure

what did you do to fix it?

when I bleed the brakes, I forgot to make sure all the air bubbles out so, I bleed them again and there was still a massive amount of air still in them. it took 6 pumps on each wheel to get all the air out.
