ghost in my car

ok, so heres the question, my car will be sitting locked outside windows up doors closed and the alarm will just go off randomly. it's happened to me twice now and i cant figure out what the hell is goin on.. its the stock alarm and i know the only way to set it off is to hit something on the inside. there is no one in there and nothing touching buttons.. do i have a ghost??? hehehe, but seriously it's werid

-Check the hood, make sure it's latch down tight, there's a hood switch in the engine bay, but I don't where for a 2g.

Ghost was in your car? i swear i wasnt... j/k, my dads having a similar problem with his GTP, the alarm will just go off for no reason, were still trying to figure it out, might just have to get a new alarm.

i know that the 96 models had that problem , it was the hood latch. Not sure if thats your problem or not.

Could also be alarm sensitivity, my friends 3KGT alarm will go of with just a leaf falling from a tree, but im not sure how sensitive the alarms are on dsm's...

i have an aftermarket alarm on my 1g, but it still goes off during the night. its sensitive, but its not that sensitive because i had tap it and it wont go off, yet, in the middle of even a calm night, itll start going off. my parents say it goes off almost every night and i dont understand it. (offtopic) i was away this past week on vacation, and the whole week my town had crazy thunderstorms, i got back, tried to turn on my car and the alarm drained the battery hahaha.

Factory ones aren't, to vibration or window breakage. Only to opening a locked door, hatch or hood.

damn! i got the same problem man! so i just disconnet everything, cut the wires that goes to the alarm speakers, i don't care if the headlights flash every now and then as long as theres no annoying sound.

Man, for once I got the humor in one of Defiants posts.*pats self on the back* It might have something to do with the electronics in the alarm itself, could be a bad component of sorts. I dated a girl who's car stereo would start changing radio stations at 12:00 am everynight, never did figure out what it was. but it was the damnest thing.

my 95 talon power door locks will lock and unlock themselves just when ever. sometimes it does it in the middle of the night some ties it will do it as im driving dow the road. i dont have an alarm but im sure if i did it would make it go off.
