Im getting ready to rewire my stock 2g fuel pump. I have a set of instructions regarding the relay, fuse, and how it all connects together. Heres the question.

I already have a 10 gauge wire in place for a small (220 watt) amp. Can I piggy back my fuel pump wire to the amp feed wire? This would allow me to get it done quicker. Would still use the relay and everything,, but the amp and fuel pump would share the main feed which is a very high quality multi strand car stereo type cable.

Would the amp pick up any noise from the pump? Would the 2 components get sufficient power?

Thanks!

i would not do this at all when you use a system it draws a tremendous amount of power and it would also be drawing power directly from the fuel pump and with 2 units on 1 wire it would also blow fuses very easily i dont suggest doing this at all use the existing 10 gauge wire for the fuel pump if you want with a 10 gauge ground for equal amounts of power and ground and run a 4 gauge to the amp itself

also with any system you should have a capacitor so you dont overload the altinator every farit is equal to 1000 watts of handling power so .5 farit is for 500 watts 1 farrit is for 1000 watts and so on

BULLZ AUDIO EPAK4R 4 Gauge Amplifier Amp Wiring Kit + 2.2 Farad Power Capacitor | eBay cheap kit right here but itll get the job done especially with 200 watts of power

Spoken like a true DSMer. Why buy from a reputable shop when you can get unreliable ebay crap for half the price. :idontknow:

OP - your car, your call.

Haha i was waiting for someone to say that. Funny thing is that its the same quality item. The person on ebay can afford to sell it at a cheaper price because there not running a full fledge business and paying staff and maintaining a race car ..... I posted it to give the op an option. Cheap isnt always bad and name bands aren't always bad... Copy?

So funny that this cheap ebay immitation crap has been in my car and is doing its job and my car is pushing over 520hp....

but then again the kit consists of wires and a relay and some crimp connectors so in reality theres really not that much in it that can possibly fail (only the relay).

JUST SAYIN....

10-4.

I have a bunch of high quality car stereo wiring, fuses, connectors, and an offroad light relay. No need to spend a dime anywhere.

So, what I did was use the wire I had already run for the amp, 8 gauge(!) for the fuel pump. Then I rewired the amp to the stock under seat amplifier wiring harness. Probably going to get a walbro 190 next just because the new wiring can handle it. That was fun.

Good choice on the 8 gauge, it's a bit bigger wire to deal with but at least you'll have less voltage drop than 10 gauge.

That's what I went with, I bought 8 gauge amp wire (nice thin stranded wire and flexible silicone insulation) for the +12V fuel pump feed and then grounded the fuel pump at the seat belt bolt. Best available voltage. I then used a 20 amp fuse with the Walbro 255HP.
