CAR AS IT SITS TODAY
1997 GS-T 150,000
New head, timing belt and water pump changed.
PR fmic
Fake rs bov - Leaking
t-25 hacked for fmic :ohdamn:
boost gauge and mbc
Catback 3" exhaust

PARTS WIATING FOR INSTALL
Evo Maf & pigtail
Evo 560 injectors
fp evo3 16g
evo3 o2 housing
ebay 16g install kit (my turbo has all oem lines on it)
arp head studs
190 fuel pump
Synapse bov

Wideband will not be purchased tell after the 4th of July, how much boost do you guys think I can safely run with all parts installed? I was assuming based on the evo and the fact i will need a little more boost to compensate for the maf/timing, I would be safe to 18psi.

Let me known what you guys think. :thumb:

Boost leaks, bov is leaking, exhaust gasket is shot, downpipe to catback gasket is leaking and threads are locked up. previous owner did a number on this car. I im ready to get her back on track.

good look! and thanks for cams, when i swap my t25 for a fp big t-28 (direct bolt-on)took me about 3 hours to make the turbo swap. get new turbo bolts , i broke the old ones when i was torquing. napa sell it

It's likely your NAPA bolts will snap, too. Possibly causing a real headache for your hotside.
There are few that hold up like the OEM bolts do.

This thread is full of fail.

1. Do you have any way to control the 560cc injectors?
2. Do you have any way of controlling the evo maf?
3. How do you plan on installing the ARP's without replacing the head gasket? (I have people install ARPs without replacing the head gasket. I also saw the same number of people ruin their headgasket doing the same thing.)
4. Are you sure the Synapse will fit up to your BOV flange?
5.Walbro 190 Will be weak for higher boost pressures.
6. Umm 18psi with no fuel control or maf control is asking to run either real rich or lean my suggestion is to not do anything.
Ugh I can keep going on.

Here is what you should do....

Fix boost leaks
Get wideband
Get fuel/air controller (dsmlink afc ceddymods)
Then install parts.

:rocks:You sir need to search a little before comenting, questions rebutled. This is not my first dsm and i am not some punk throwing on parts hoping for a race car. If you researched my setup you would realise the reason i have the evo maf and evo injectors is to bypass the need of dsmlink.

1. Do you have any way to control the 560cc injectors? Evo maf controls injectors2. Do you have any way of controlling the evo maf? Cut and splice with our maf harness
3. How do you plan on installing the ARP's without replacing the head gasket? (I have people install ARPs without replacing the head gasket. I also saw the same number of people ruin their headgasket doing the same thing.) one at a time, i do have a spare headgasket if needed4. Are you sure the Synapse will fit up to your BOV flange? its a 1g bov flange
5.Walbro 190 Will be weak for higher boost pressures. No it wont only planning on 18 psi6. Umm 18psi with no fuel control or maf control is asking to run either real rich or lean my suggestion is to not do anything. You should try the search button

I purchased new arp bolts for the turbo, I have 2 turbos to rob the bolts for the o2 housing from, hopefully they will be salvagable. I ordered the wrong downpipe so i will be using my stck o2 housing not the evo 3. :ohdamn: Ive got the turbo swapping down to a science, seems like removing the o2 sensor and bolts is always the pain in my A$$.

Ok buddy...

I researched your "setup" which involved looking at your profile. I am not going to read all your post to try to find out what you have. If you want people to help make sure your profile is up to date.

I used ceddymods on my car and just slapping an evo maf and evo injectors is not going to solve your problem. The ecu still thinks it has a dsm maf and dsm injectors. It cannot correctly compensate for the new fuel. When you switch mafs and injectors there are tables that must be changed.

running the evo maf will correct the afr. That being said it will also alter the timing, give her a little boost and she is ready to rock. My setup is posted at the top of this thread (not installed yet, thats why they are not in my profile) I ran evo scan on my old 2g so i am familiar with the setup and what it takes to make it work. If you put a 2g ecu on an evo you would have to run stock 2g injectors or it would run rich. If you put a evo maf on an eclipse you have to run evo injectors or you will run lean. Its all over the forums and has been for about 4 years. I know i need a wideband and it will come, just not tell after the 4th of july. My old 20g setup i was able to boost 18lb with 560 injectors and 190 fuel pump with no issues (tuned with afc)

With a Wideband, a way to accurately compensate for the larger injectors, and a 16g, I think you'll be happy with 20+PSI. Just from my experience, however, I personally love to be able to see visual data and realtime information. Is this where you are stopping with your build? Do you plan on upgrading your 'tuning' solution? What's your ultimate goal for the car?

Well lets be clear it wont make it perfect but it will help offset for larger injectors. It is a band-aid fix. A wideband and AFC or some other tuning device will make sure everything is correct. Without either you are running blind.

Good luck with the installation I hope all goes well. Report back so we can see how it turned out.

According to DSMunknown's testing it was discovered that the EVO/3g MAS reads air in a way that compensates for the 560's almost entirely. Apparently no tuning required.
Sounds like a great recipe for a mean 14b or a moderate 16g, to me.

However, he did blow his bottom-end I thought..:hmm: Coincidence?LOL

As for the guy touting his NAPA bolts here's a thought. More NAPA bolts fail than OEM, same goes for ARP. ARP does have a second product that does work very well, however.

if your looking for a quality bolt go to fastenal there ussually all over and can get what you need in the tensil strength you desire napa bolts are just grade two and grade five china crap use quality bolts and save you tons of time in the future

ps most bolts fail because of over tightening them look at specs :hellyeah:

Lol i never said it was my first choice.. It was there and i snapped 1 of the arp's that were on the evo3 when removing it and couldn't get the others out and needed the car up and running Immediately as its my DD.. So i grabbed some from NAPA i was just saying i have them and haven't had issues..

So before you go saying the im TOUTING them like some godly thing how about getting the fully story..

As for the evo mas/ injectors its been proven to work time and time again.. Its like throwing a 2g mas/550's in a 1g.. Ya its not the BEST solution and its not the SAFEST solution but it does work.. It will normally leave you running a bit rich which is a lot better then lean.. Would i personally do it without an afc/link,, no but its not my car and that isn't going without saying it wont be ok for a month until he can get his WB and tune it..
