2G getting no spark

hey guys i was driving last night and all of a sudden my car died and after pushing it home i found that im not getting any spark on any coil what could be the problem. i checked the timing and its good someone had said that it could be the power transistor what does this do and if anybody has any pointers on what else could be causing the problem that would be great thanks.

Id check the crank sensor for sure or the cam sensor this could cause it. I had the crank sensor get smacked by the blade on my 95 gst due to my own stupidity though we wont go there .

would the crank sensor cause both coils not to fire

it did on my 95 GST. Id atleast pull the lower timing cover off and take a look at the sensor look for any noticeable damage to it that would be a start anyways.

Definitely a bad crank sensor. Is it still a 7 bolt motor?

it cant be the ecu it still pumps the fuel if the ecu was gone it wouldnt pump the fuel or run the injectors i think

It's kinda hard to say what it definitely is from reading a post. The best advice is to check all the sensors involved...the crank sensor is a good place to start. It could be the power transistor, or it could be the coil it's self. If you have a volt meter you can check it them.

I would check the crank and cam sensors first and then go from there. I had a similar issue once.

I had leaking capaciters on my ecu cause no spark. A haynes manual will explain how to test your coil pack. A bad cas will also cause no spark. Ecmtuning.com has good info on ecu damage.
