alright my throw out bearing is ####ed up i guess so i'm gonna get it fixed at my friends shop. I know that if i'm gonna pull the tranny and everything i might as well upgrade clutches and anything else i need to do. I'm just kinda short on cash right now, i know a 2600 would be the best thing to get, but i'm also concerned about the pedal pressure on those clutches. I dont enjoy driving cars with really stiff clutch pedals, is the 2600 really THAT much stiffer than the stock clutch, or does it just take some getting used to? My clutch pedal feels so easy right now i'm sure a little stiffer i wouldnt mind that much.

anyways any insight u have for me if u've been in this situation before is greatly appreciated. I dont want to make any mistakes or have anything to regret after i do this cause i prolly wont have a chance for a while to do anything else. so ya anything u feel the need to tell me, plz do it.

my 1g awd came with one and its noticible but its not bad. you'll get used to it in no time.

I've heard the same about this ss clutch line so I picked one up from xtreme. As far as the 2600...its a very noticeable difference from stock and for my 2G, its not the best choice. That clutch is however a die hard clutch. I went with a clutchmasters 2500pp/street disc and the ss line should make it feel oh so good. I would like my crank to stay where it is. :D

I've got a Competition for sale, 6puck, very streetable. Less pedal pressure than the 2600, and will hold 600whp. Brand new disk, pressure plate has 1500 miles on it. Asking 300.

whaaaaa.... 6 puck, streetable? arent those so much different from street disks? when they catch they ####in CATCH and throw u back LOL dont they? anyway do u mean a competition pressure plate and a 6 puck disk? i'm not very up on clutch names and companies and shit so bear with me a little bit. Also its the pressure plate that increases the pedal pressure right? does the disk affect pedal pressure at all?

ya i will say that the slow boy 3500 is awsome i have it with a fidanza FW and SS line and it feels gret and it's about 30 percent increASE in pedel pressure and the act is like 50 percent or more so save that crank and also like a 50 mile break in is all that is required :thumb:

Cut the flywheel to the height recomended by the manufacturer you choose and measure it yourself to insure that it is correct. Red loctite the flywheel bolts and torque them to 100lb/ft. Get the stainless line because it is cheap and works nice. Then follow Jon's advice on set up: http://www.teamrip.com/clutch adjustment.html
The people who complain about stiff act 2600s don't have their adjustment right.

2600 is stiffer than stock but it's really not that bad. I got used to it after 2 days and now it feels absolutely normal. Now when I drive a car with a stock clutch I almost push the damn pedal through the floor though because they are so much easier to push. Bottom line ... after 2 days you'll be used to it and it'll feel fine. No biggie.

So it sounds like SBR is using a Clutchmasters Pressure Plate, it's 2500lbs the same as a clutchmasters. I bet they just paint it red, as far as the disk goes it looks like a South Bend DXD feramic clutch disk. I bet it's almost identical?

the sbr is a competition clutch just made to sbr specs NOT a a clutch masters pressure plate or a southbend dxd clutch disc. don't spread false info. I got mine from sbr and was told this info, thats how I know.

edit: sorry, you didn't say it was you said it appears to be. my apologies. I'm just trying to get things straight.

Well i could see where you could be upset, but it seems everything they "make" is from another vendor. There fmic is a kit made buy a company in Canada i believe :thumbdown

With a first gen AWD definitely go with the 2600 its well worth it. You wont have to worry about your clutch slipping at all. Oh, and about the heavyness of the clutch try driving any Mustang Cobra their manual clutch is worse. Just make sure you get it stepped correctly.

I'm a bit interested on this too... However, people gotta consider the fact that you can always get use to the pedal pressure even if its a bit heavy in light driving condition. But once you start driving in stop and go traffic, like in LA or most of Cali anyway, thats when you really suffer and start feeling the pedal pressure difference.
