OK, I am looking at possibly getting a parts car that is the same as our Talon..... it's super cheap ($50), but has no title. I ran the VIN and it's not stolen It's got no motor or trans, but otherwise intact. But, I would be picking it apart then sending the shell to the junk yard - that is IF I could get a title somehow. Licensing said you have to send in a request for the info to the licensing dept., then send the title holder a certified letter asking for the title - and if they don't respond, then you have the car checked out by DOL to verify the info, and you can then REGISTER it for up to 3 years, THEN you can get a title for it after that - but that's ridiculous because it's a car that is headed to the junk yard after I strip off some parts, so I'm definitely not going through that process. Anybody know of another way to find out the title holder's info by the VIN? If I can't get rid of the shell, then I'll just not get it. I don't want to deal with cutting it apart! That could be $100 in oxy/acetylene just to do that, not to mention the time involved!

if you don't want to cut it apart, you can just abandon it in some parking lot after you strip what you want off of it :thumb:

^^^^^ ditto....It's not registered to you so they can't come after you for abandoning it.
