Getting a new car Eclipse will become a tuner

Hey guys looking at trading my truck
Just tired of paying 400+ bucks a month in gas

Here is what i'm looking at

Audi TT 225 Quattro Used with 44K miles

Chevy Colbalt SS Supercharged bran new

06 Eclpise GT with 10K miles on it.

I know most of you will say Eclpise but what i'm mostly looking for are the goods and the bads not which brand you like better. I like all three of these brands a lot. my truck is GMC.

Anyone heard much about these three? which one should i get?

I wouldn't get the 4G eclipse, simply because it's a fat-ass pig. They added almost a whole liter to the engine over the 3G's, and only picked up 53hp. The car weigs way too much. I'd go for either the Audi or the SS/SC.

Audi TT. You should look up a used vette they dont get that bad of real world gas mileage as long as it stays stock.

Cobalt SS for sure it seems to have serious potential. I forgot what race it was I was watching and it set a new record beating a lot of rwd and awd cars. I can't find more info on the race but If I do I'll post it. Anyways it's nice and audi tt is to small and girly looking and 4g ? please...WTF

Sorry the used vette pwns them all and most have been owned by old, very caring owners. I dont understand the logic of buying a cobalt SS (a wannabe sports car everyones g/f will have) or the very real performance and styling a C5 has to offer. I would feel like i punched myself in the nuts.

Well out of the list you provided & the vette I would take the Colbalt for practiallity, they are pretty sweet i test drove one out of curiosity & was pretty supprised at the potential it had... take in consideration it is already supercharged & probaply just needs a good tunning & maybe some bolt ons & you got your selft a pretty sweet ride, & if my Girlfriend/ or wife did have one they would have a hard time getting the keys from me for it is addicting. I would say for your own judgment envision what you are using the car for DD or building a monster, than find the car that fits your cratiuge fwd, awd, $, MPG, & then test drive every frikin one until you know for sure what you want. Every one hear will tell you what they want as I did but only you will make the payments & if you dont get the car you want & are making pmnts on 20K or so & dont like the car or wish you had chose another one, it can be a bit disapointing. So my frien you asked a question only you can awnser, with that i leave you with this. Whats Wrong With an Audi S4? that would be my weapon of choice.

Out of the list the Cobalt I would say. My brother is a Mitsubishi car sales man and the eclipse has a good motor but when driving doesnt have much behind her. Feels under powered. I would reccomend the Evo RS. Starting at $28000 with 286hp. Very good priced and pretty nice. Doesnt have any cool features though. No leather, no power anything and when I drove it was very surprised it didnt have any stereo at all. Just speaker holes if you want to fill them in. over all was still nice. I was really surprised how notchy the tranny was for a car with 10 miles on it. The tranny felt just like my 91 TSI

The corvette or the LS1 which is basically the same motor as the C5 vette's but you can get one for cheaper than the vette.

I"m leaning twards the Cobalt supercharged and the Audi TT. Eclpise is out. it does feel heavy.

I live in MN so i can't get RWD because of snow so the vette is out. What i really want is a 350Z hehe.

Here is the skinny

Cobalt SS SC FWD bran new 0 miles 6 year 60K miles 205HP with a supercharger

Audi TT *name and look says wow* 48K miles 02 no warrenty AWD which would be nice for winter. 225HP so a bit faster.

I've driven both they both feel super spunky one is new one isn't

I"m going to guess parts and fixing the chevy will be much cheaper then the audi?

Also modding the audi i heard is hard and to leave them stock. this true?

I drove the piss out of a supercharged colbalt tonight and was amazed with the power but with those ultra low profile tires on 18's i'm worried about ice and snow.

I find the Evo very ugly haha so i don't think i'll be getting one of those. I have this thing with 4 door cars i'm weird like that i guess.

only problem is the lack of back seat.

get the SS supercharged they are fast, and there engine has alot of potential. plus its already boosted so it has stronger internals

Audi TTs are so damn slow they shouldnt be called sports cars, and the place LAST in every car mag. If some breaks have fun paying out the ass at the dealer.

That being said the COBALT SUPERCHARGED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To tell you the truth, FWD isnt that great in the snow I dont care what anyone says. Any cars will spin in the snow, hell my dads old 4X4 truck would lit them up in the snow.

Get a set of nice snow tires, and drive with less throttle its simple

Im sorry, but as a Corvette owner I feel I must step in here and set you straight.

The LS1 IS the motor that comes in the Corvette, except for the Z06. Z06's come with an LS6. The LS1 also comes in the Camaro which is what I believe you are referring to. Albeit, it is a detuned LS1. Nonetheless, its still an LS1.

With the Black and Red leather interrior.

On the topic, I agree the Audi TT is crap. I know someone with one and he has had so many problems. The ecu was replaced twice, the maf was replaced twice, once because it went out and the second when he put a K&N in and the oil killed it. The windows stoped rolling up and down. Not to mention way under powered and slow. The look is the only good thing. Look into buying an S4 of some sort. Also the cobalt SS is underrated and almost dynos 200 so its way faster.
