Generic Chinese 255lph fuel pumps, anyone tested?

I agree with some of the stuff here metioned. But I run an ebay FMIC along with probably 50 percent of the others on this site with great results. On the other hand though your fuel pump goes well bye bye engine. Just some food for thought. I run other knock off parts too like my external wastegate (ssac) which hold boost fine. But when it comes to fuel parts its name brand proven parts.

A front mount isn't going to FAIL unless you blow out a weld from running too much boost (which with the area of the intercooler's end tank welds, is highly unlikely). An ebay FMIC is only going to sacrifice some efficiency from cheaper materials. A fuel pump has moving parts, is an electric motor, and with poor materials, is MUCH more likely to truly fail.

Now lets weigh the outcomes of each of these parts failing...

FMIC weld or brazing in core blown: you limp home from metered airflow leaking out, or just drive home w/o much boost depending on air metering setup

Fuel pump: You get a nice ride home sitting next to bubba from XXX towing with your car on a flatbed behind the cab, leaking oil and coolant everywhere from the hole in the block where the rod shot through. Not only are you out an engine, possibly turbo, maybe head too, but you get to fork out $XXX for the tow home too.

So, you weigh the risk. If you think saving $50 for an ebay pump is worth the risk of THOUSANDS of dollars, you go ahead and have fun with that one. I'll stick to proven legitimate parts.
