so i just got my clutch fixed after i had the car sitting for 2 and a half yrs
this feels weird or it might just be me being paranoid about my clutch
i'm doing about 3k-4k in first gear and im getting only about 10-20mph and when im in like second gear i could only push it like to 40mph doing again 3k-4k...i just got a whole lot of work done with a 2100 act clutch kit, with an act street light flywheel, timing belt, all other belts, spark plugs, wires, upper and lower radiator hoses.

don't want all of that money to go down the drain if this rpm isnt right...i went back to the guy who fixes turbo cars for a living specifically dsm's, evo's and srt4's he says this is nothing out of the ordinary...is he right and im just being paranoid?

Its been a long time since I have driven my talon but from what you are describing it sounds perfecty normal. I wouldn't worry about it at all, just drive it and enjoy the boost and not think twice about

wow jakob don't say dont worry about it and just drive the car, if he feels like there is something odd wait for more people to reply to your post and feel it out better. dont hurt the car for no reason other then to drive it and feel boost. im not sure on the 2g transmissions as i have a 1g and a vr4 and those two cars are different from one another because my vr4 has a taller 1st gear. dont drive the car for a day or two get as much input from as may people as you can and make sure everything is good because you just paid a bunch of cash for it to not be on jack-stands so i would check into it a little more before something bad could possibly happen.

You are being paranoid, baby the car until the clutch is completley broken in to.

Agreed. Sounds completely normal to me.

Well he's right, and you are over thinking this situation.

Drive the car and don't get in boost too much until the clutch is broken in.

Yeah that's completely normal just make sure to give the clutch a good amount of break in time before launching or romping on it.

deff makes me feel a lot better...i plan on babying it until 500-750 miles on the clutch..although the guy that i took it to ### i was being paranoid about it boosted the hell out of it revving up to 6k..anyways thanks a bunch

i wrote my post while Alan11 wrote and posted his and all i was saying is if he feels that its weird why risk something if he isnt sure, get some more feedback before you go and make a possible mistake. jakob who wrote that said he hadnt driven his talon in a long time and he wasnt sure, why go off a maybe when you can wait and get a deff. from someone like you or alan who know for sure and have a deff answer for him. im just one of those people that is overly cautious. id rather measure 3 times and then check again before i cut.
