Gauge wiring

Im gonna be wiring up some gauges soon and I was just wondering what everyone's preference is on wiring. Ive seen some people wire them to their cig lighter light, Some to the dash lights, and some straight from battery power to a blank spot in the fuse box. I dont want to over load a circuit with amps and burn the wiring. Im running 3 gauges so thats three extra routs to ground for electricity. Just trying to see what everyone else has done.

I have mine wired to my dash lights and 1 on my cig lighter. 3 gauges with no problems.

Another option, is to use your parking/headlights to trigger a relay to provide the gauges with +12V. You can accomplish this by purchasing a standard 12V relay from Radio Shack (or wherever you buy electronic equipment). Connect your positive parking/headlights to the pin labeled 86, and ground to pin 85. Connect a +12V (constant, your +12V at your ignition switch should work just fine) wire to pin 87, and your gauge lights to pin 30. This is assuming that your gauge lights require +12V to trigger...
