Ok just need a quick verifacation. Im leaking alot of oil I knwo where from but im on a huge budget. Theres a gasket kit on ebay....YES i said ebay thats for a 7 bolt motor. Now if i remember right it should work for the 6 bolt as well right?

I just need the vc gasket, crank seal, bs seal, oil pump seal(behind oil pump gear), and possible cam seals. Those are interchangable from 6 to 7 bolt correct? Im almost sure they are just want more anwsers to give me a for sure.
 
You should read up on felpro seals and gaskets. Seals like that you'd regret later for using crap brands. I should know, I bought an ITM set from dsmgraveyard. Each one leaked one after the other within 6 months and I was pissed the first one to go was the rear main.

Trust me, it's not worth it. Spend the $20 extra now or let the car sit until you can.
 
the oil pump one should be the same. dsm grave yard sells them as 90 to 99. acording to them all the seals r the same

its onlt a temo thing to get my car fixed for the next few weeks. its not permanate. Im working on moving and need the car to move and once i move motors getting pulled and build so im not worried about going the better route right this moment
 
False. That's the crap kit I bought. They include all the gaskets in one big kit instead of being specific to the year. I have at least 10 gaskets left over from that kit.
 
I know the gaskets on the block and the head gasket are different. Im not using those. Im only using the vc gasket, crank seal, bs seal, cam seals, and the seal behind the oil pump gear not the oil pump gasket. there are a few other gaskets ill be using like the manifold to turbo and the exhaust manifold gasket.

*P/N's are different between the two but our vendors say they are interchangeable.

Front crank seal-
6 bolt MD069949 / Revised P/N MD343563
7 bolt same

Balance shaft seal LH-
6 bolt MD069950 / Revised P/N MD343565
7 bolt same

Cam seals both I/E-
6 bolt MD153103 / Revised P/N MD133317
7 bolt same

Oil pump gear drive shaft seal-
6 bolt MD095355 / Revised P/N MD365697
7 bolt same

the reason your rear main "seal" leaked may have been because the factory service manual calls for RTV, not a paper gasket. I never understood why they make paper gaskets for parts that are not meant for it...:nono:

im not doin the build yet. but just fixing the oil leaks since where i stay they r complaining about the oil spots im leaving. hopefully the build will start here in about a month and thats when the good stuff will onlyy be used

then just go to walmart and buy a 2X4 oil pan :thumb:

Maybe we're not talking of the same things here. The rear main SEAL is lightly pressed into an aluminum housing. This aluminum housing is then bolted onto the rear of the block with 5 bolts. The FSM shows a paper gasket between the block and aluminum seal housing. The dealers program also calls for this with the P/N being MD040333 (revised P/N MD183243)

I see now. You're talking about the 2G 7bolts. You're right they use RTV as the housing to block seal. I have a 6 bolt in my 2G, (my) paragraph above is valid for 1G 4G63 engines. Including P/N's.
