Leamington,
hey guys.

My gas pedal is really stiff and I dont know what to do about it.
could I just spray wd-40 somewhere?? i would spray release all actualy
cause wd-40 attracks dust and whatever you spray becomes all dusty:notgood:

I guess....I just got this car like 2 months ago.
its not super stiff...its just at the point where I cant drive super
smooth...people say im a jumpy driver...but im not
its the gas pedal

Try adjusting the throttle cable on the intake. clean up your throttle plate really good because dirt and grime could have built up in there causing the throttle to be so stiff. clean and lube the shaft inside the throttle body and outside it where the cable hooks up. look at the throttle pedal and make sure a floor mat or something else isnt phisically in the way of the pedal. clean and lube the pivot points on the pedal also.

If none of that helps some of the components could be bent causing it to bind. then you would have to find it and replace the component. good luck with it all

I am in the same boat. Not a week ago I found myself at a red light next to a Civic Si. The light changed and I proceeded to wax it.. well not quite. I launched like normal, mashed the gas and then at the end of 2nd gear he passed me. My gas pedal had stuck to the floor and I proceeded, not racing, but instead WRAPPING out my 10 yr old engine relentlessly. It has been a few days and until this morning I just wrote off the incident. There's no smoking but now it seems like it could give some kind of ignition problem. When I hit the key today it idled terribly for the first minute or so, almost dying at times. It warmed up and it seemed fine, but is it? Appreciate anyone's ideas on this, thanks.
