Galant VR4 Question

Did the Galant come w/ the turbo fwd or just the VR4 awd ?

If not, how different are the front ends of the Galant and the 1st gen Eclipse ?
I'm thinking of swapping in a 4g63 into an older Galant but don't want to do the AWD conversion. Ideas.........

I dont think there's a FWD turbo Galant. You should be able to put a 4G63 in a 85-92 Galant. I have a G64B out of a 87 Galant and its identical to the 4G63 with the exception of being a 2.4.

Try to track down a Galant GS. Those had a nonturbo 4G63 in them, it'll be much easier to do the swap in those.

There's also a Galant GSX. Not sure about the engine but they have AWD. They look like the VR4.

The Galant GSX was awd non turbo 4g63. They look similar to the VR4. They are pretty damn rare. I've seen more VR4's than GSX's. They have weaker transmissions, and higher gearing. They can be swapped to a turbo engine just the same as a N/T Eclipse.

You're right about being rare. Ive only seen 1.

Umm GS has a DOHC 2.4 4G64 engine.

I don't know what year Galants you're referring to, but the 89-93 Galant GS's were 2.0.
