I say he buys a non turbo dsm to start with, They are reliable and get you into the dsm community. Once you have money and a good steady income you can upgrade to a turbo

^^ this is what I'm doing =]]

A car is only as good as the person working on it,and they won't run on hopes and dreams for very long, regardless on make, model or year.I've had mine for 4years now.My first turbo car also,I paid $2,500 from a kid I worked with,he had too many.I drove 150 miles round trip for three years before I lost my job.I have had some issues ,bent some valves(my fault didn't get tensioner bolt tight enough) and two cluches (damn damper springs) but one of the most reliable cars I've owned that holds up to my abuse 298,000 miles ,136,000 when I got her.I will keep her till I'm too old to drive.Awesome in snow, wet pavement.,

The thread title is dumb, it should have been called "Potential DSM Owner" or something like that
