Fuel Sending Unit

Need some advice. Went to change my fuel pump on the 93 tsi awd 5 spd today.
Looks like the fuel sending unit is toast.Don't even know how it was working. The metal line is rusted through. None of the parts stores have one. The one dealer I called doesn't have one either. I've contacted the people on here that are parting out. Waiting to hear. If anyone has a suggestion, I would appreciate it.

Graveyard is a no go. Will try JNZ.

Just checked JNZ and they, like everyone else only offer FWD not AWD. I'm
told there is a difference between the two.

Turns out the fuel sending unit is not the correct term.
I guess I need the fuel pump assy. I need the
part that the pump mounts to with the line on top.

The fuel pump assembly includes the bracket, pump, and seals. For a 1G AWD it's MB597728, about $600 list if you can find it. The bracket wasn't available by itself.

Because of the location the cars in the rust belt are all going to find that it's corroded. I tried looking locally when I changed mine but they were all either junk or well on their way to being junk. So I got one from a junk yard in California that wasn't all rusted out.

At times there have been places that sold replacement covers you attach your hanger to or whole units but I'm not aware of anybody still doing so.

i bought mine from craigslist used. I had to buy a gas tank with it. The gas gauge didnt read any more. It costed like 100 bucks
