Fuel Pump is Strange

Here is my problem, I installed a brand new fuel pump in my 92 GS. My old pump hummed and whinned but this pump sounds like it is sick. It has the normal hummm to it then it will change pitches around for a few seconds back and fourth. I checked everything and the fiter is brand new along with the strainer. Car runs awesome and I have had no problems with it. There also isn't a surge when the turn signal comes on anymore and the pump does not start when the car is put to acc. and if the car is turned off the pump won't stay on for the 2 or 3 seconds like it used to. Is there anything I can do to stop the noise or is it just my DSM?

Is the new pump a stock replacement or aftermarket?

I used to hear all kinds of crap (turn signal, radio, RF) from my Winebro pump before I re-wired it to the battery (VFAQ). Now it's a constant whirring

Since yours is running fine, my advice is to either re-wire or turn the radio up

What he said, the rewire isn't always necissary, but it never hurts. And yeah, if you hear a noise you dont like, be a true dsmer and turn the radio up.
