Ok so here is what is going on. I want to run 17psi on my car, and as of right now I get fuel cut at around 4500-5000 Depending on the gear, so I turned down my MBC and am only running 12-14ish. But anyway, I am planning a parts list of stuff I want to get and have a few questions.

1) Can I eliminate fuel cut by just running a bigger pump, AFPR? Or would I have to have SAFC or DSMlink?

2) Do I have to have a bigger injectors to eliminate fuel cut? And if so can the SAFC compinsate for that or do I need the DSMlink?

3) For this stuff would I have to have both the SAFC and the DSMlink? Or would the DSMlink do the same stuff as a SAFC and more?

I am looking at keeping this as low budget as possible and the SAFC and DSMlink are near the same price and if I only have to get one that would be good. And also DSMlink can read codes and clear them right?

just injectors and DSMlink? I am assuming I need a pump too? What is better a 190 or 225? This isnt going to be a way souped up drag queen, but DDing and weekend track use, mostly with mild bolt ons for now. I only got a 16g and 3" exhaust, MBC, and an open K&N filter. But near future modes are new o2 houseing w/ aftermarket gate and vent to the atmosphere, FMIC, Greddy Type RS bov, Intake tube, Downpipe, Turbo man. Then pump, injectors, (maybe) rail. long range I am wanting a 20g and 2.3 stroker then intake man and tbody.

and speakign of pumps, what is this whole rewiring the pump for? I can only find how-to's and not why you do it.

190 LPH Walbro or EVO 8/9 Fuel pump should be good for your setup. I go ahead and order the AFPR and rock the stock one till you have a feel for Link. Its what I am planning on doing with this car, only tuning expierance I have is with SAFC-II and Megasquirt.

you do not need an aftermarket furl rail by any means. i would get a walbro 255 for your setup. There is no point in getting a 190 and then when you get a bigger turbo having to buy and install a 255. Also no need for the throttle body. There have been many guys in the 400 whp and 500whp that are still running the stock throttle body. They are mainly for the bigger/ higher flowing turbo's.

check out the upgrade path and go from there

i got the stage 1 and stage 2 upgrade path things printed out and have been using them to help influence, and I know that rail was questionable, I was just going put it on the maybe list for if I decide to go high horsepower. But I have half of the stuff or so on stage one, but will just add some stage 2 stuff for extra power. althouhg there isnt much on the stage 2 list that I havent mention already. And I did not know that bout the tbody. I come from the Big block community where a bigger tbody opens up a lot of power.

My bad...255 pump and a afpr, you might as well do it right if your gonna do it at all. just out of curiosity, is it a big 16g or small?

You should go with a walbro 255 and 550cc injectors first off. I believe the re wire for the fuel pump is only used on the 90s due to an issue twith the grounds. My fuel pump kept grounding before the pump motor causing a no start.

the rewire is mainly to get a thicker wire on the pump so you can put more voltage to it. Therefore getting max ability out of it

Ok, so any clue for the real reason for the rewire? LOL, I jsut want to make sure when I get to do this I do it for the right reasons and not doing something that doesnt meed to be done. And what are the stock injectors? 450cc? why only step up 100cc? Just curious.

It seems like you want to keep the car for a while and do some more upgrades, I would recommend doing it right the first time.

get a 255 pump, make sure you rewire it. The rewire applies to all years of dsm's I believe. Eclipse Fuel Pump Tech Tips

Get an adjustable fuel pressure regulator.

Get larger injectors. I would say 680-1000 should be ok with dsm link, If you have dsm link you can run whatever size injectors and correct for them. So may as well go large so you don't have to worry about it.

Get dsm link. Link will take the place of a safc, and it is much more versatile and definitely a good investment.

I would recommend getting everything at once and installing it. If you do it separately, make sure you get the fuel pump and the afpr at the same time, then get the injectors and dsmlink and do those at the same time.

Thanks that is some good info. Checked out the tech tips and it is pretty sweet and straight forward really. And hopefully all will come at the same time, but if not then I was def. planning on getting the pump and AFPR at the same time then the DSMlink and injectors, Just depends on how much money the school gives me! :thumb: Usually around 3g's so hopefully I will be able to get that and the FMIC for starters, then exhaust stuff.
