OK, so I can't get the top or bottom fittings off. So my question is can I cut off the old flare fitting, remove it from the hose then install a new flare fitting to reattach it? Or should I just cut the hard line, and put a reinforced hose with hose clamps, but then wouldent it blow up with the pressure?

As long as you get Fuel Injection Fuel Line you will be fine. It is rated for 160 psi or so.

Make sure there are no sharp edges that could rub the line.

Having soft line there makes removing the pump much easier, the stock hard lines tend to seize up quickly.

Well I know about reinforced hose will hold a good bit, but what about it sliding off the hard pipe, since there is no beadroll to prevent it from blowing off.

No it won't slide off, as long as you use a hose clamp and proper sized fuel hose.

They even sell hose clamps just for fuel line at Advanced and AutoZone, they are kind of like a little T-Bolt clamp.

Breaking the fuel pump hard line on the 2Gs is a fairly common, I would say a significant percent of modded 2Gs have a piece of soft line back there.

The main issue to watch out for is sharp edges on the surrounding sheet metal.

Ok gotcha, and yes I have fuel line clamps, I went and bought the proper stuff, but I wasent sure if it was going to slide off with the pressure. Thanks.
