fuel problems

Hey everyone tonight i was driving, and my gas light came on when i had a quarter of a tank left. What could cause this to happen?

Hey everyone tonight i was driving, and my gas light came on when i had a quarter of a tank left. What could cause this to happen?

Did it end up going out? Possible bad or worn spot on the sender.

Mine comes on when I take long swinging turns(usually freeway onramps) when its around an 1/8th, but then will go out shortly afterwards. Also happens on steep up or downhill roads.

Fuel level senders in DSMs are notoriously inaccurate.

This is my car with a little less than 1/4 tank.

I swore I was running it on fumes on time (trying to get the tank near empty before changing the fuel pump and some other stuff), but when I got home, I still had more than an 1/8th of a tank.

In my car the needle stops at 1/4 tank, but the light doesnt come on for another 50 miles or so... Light is accurate, but gauge isnt....
