I deleted my balance shafts when I rebuilt my 4g63t. Later on I realised that the cheap stub shaft I put in may block some oil passages and raise the oil pressure. I was thinking about putting a high pressure relief valve in between the head and an oil return and was wondering if anyone has used a fuel pressure regulator for oil?

Depends on how you done the BS delete. If you left the front balance shaft in, oil pressure won't rise much.

Most people that block off the front balance shaft ports cut the spring in the OFH and port it to lower the pressure to acceptable levels.

The stubby shaft you put in has the groove in it, I hope. Rebuilding my engine because the shaft they put in didn't have the groove, wallowed out my front case where the shaft went. Got trash all through out the engine.

They make a different spring for the OFH I'd look into getting a Kiggly HLA for your head.
The kiggley hla only effects the lifters.... And in doing so keeps more oil in the pan, it does nothing for other oil pressures as a whole as far as i know.

I'm +1 for porting the ofh.

If you used one without the oil groove, you're going to have more problems than just high oil pressure.

Not exactly sure how one could use an adjustable fuel pressure regulator to lower oil pressure, but the first step (and easiest one) would be to port the oil filter housing.

Sorry I was really tired when I posted that, yes, for sure job 1 is to port the housing to get the idle pressures back in line. That has less effect as you go up in engine speed, which is more of the job of that spring.
