Fuel Pressure problem

So I have a problem with fuel pressure. I hooked up my Aeromotive AFPR along with the Walbro 255 intake Fuel Pump and hard wired it to the battery. When I started it up with the vacume line to the AFPR off the Aeromotive gauge only adjusts up to 40 psi. I continue to turn the Allen Wrench but the needle just continues to bounce of 40psi. I did pull the cover off the FPR and made sure the small spring was in there. . . Anyone got any ideas of whats going on?

Did you use the factory clames on the hose that comes off the pump. I had a leak coming from there before.

Yeah but i checked those and theres no fuel leaks. I also checked the voltage running to the relay and it reads 14V.

So the smallest leak will cause the gauge to bounce off a number like that? And i bent it a little when i put the new Walbro 255 in. . . There was still plenty of flow though. . .
