I had a look at your car, damn is nice, almost the same setup like i have but with 2.2L and other parts that are on my wish list for a long time. I kind of lost interest in building more the eclipse since i have hard time with tuning the car and getting parts shipped to Europe.
About the injectors and have the car idle at 1200 rpm is something i would live with it if i would have your setup but i don't think i would like it so much. I got a nice deal for a set of ID 1700x but i'm not so sure i should go for it, i still think the 1300x are better injectors for pump gas maybe the 1650's too but i'm afraid to not pay 800-900$ and have the same problem
I remember when i got the 2150's i've read only good thing about it and everybody said car idle's like stock but i don't know way i never got them to work good enough and i'm tired to try more to deal with them so i'm just gonna change them.

Thanks!
As far as I know, the only reason for my idle being set high is because of the cams. Not really sure. Maybe it's because ER was re-using my old ISC which turned out later to be kind of wacked. English Racing called me up one day and asked "Is it ok if the idle is 1200?" I said sure, my idle even stock was around 1000, so I didn't care. Anyway I don't think my 1200 idle is because of the injectors. I replaced my ISC about a year later (which wasn't easy on a 1990 - I can almost understand why ER didn't want to get into it LOL).

I think there would be more people using the 1650 high-Z if it weren't for them actually costing a little more than the 2150's. When I first started that discussion with English Racing for my car, they had 2150's on the projected invoice. I said, would the 1650's run nicer and not be my power limitation? They said yes. They said the only reason they had 2150's written in was because they are cheaper. LOL. $25 cheaper. So I said let's do the 1650's then.

I think that if you change to the 1650 high-Z and still have the same problem, then the problem is with something else, I don't know what it would be. But 1650's are the way I would go. I have not followed the ID injectors for several years, so I'm not saying anything bad about them. I just don't know. ER and ECM Tuning are both very enthusiastic about the FIC injectors and that's why I went that way.

Just curious about how you buy these in Romania. Would you buy them straight from FIC? Or would you buy them from a local dealer there?

By the way, here is a link to 2min 48sec in an English Racing video where Aaron talks a little about why these 1650's rather than the 2150. Worth watching if you haven't seen it:

Aww it puts in a big ol thumbnail that ignores my t=168 in the URL.
Anyway, that discussion starts at 2:48 in the video.

I bought a new ISC motor, i thought it will fix my problem but it didn't. Since everybody said the injectors are to big i'll change those too and get a Innovate LC-2 and replace my AEM UEGO WB(again not so good to log in EcmLink even with their buffer). If i'll change these parts and not getting my idle fixed i'll sell the car :)

I've seen all the youtube videos including the evo too. I look into ID 1300x because they are smaller and same internals as Fic 1650 so in theory should work better at idle and low rpm but not so much info about them. The ID 1700x i had it on my list just because i could get a good price but i don't think will work for me as good as 1650's or 1300's.
The injectors i'll get them from US and then send it to Romania. In UK for example Fic is not so popular but you can find ID just on a bigger price. As far as i see the Evo owners from EU they prefer ID and ASNU(injector company from UK). Fic worked with them and Bosch to make 1650's.
Do you mind asking you what was the invoice at ER for 2.2 engine?

I haven't been able to log my AEM WB either. I mean the reading on the gauge is probably accurate but what I get in the log is so far off it's ridiculous. I had an Innovate LC1 on the car when I gave it to ER, they wanted an AEM on there. Jeez! The only reason I let them put it on was because that's what they wanted for doing dyno pulls, which they did 13 of, and if something went wrong during a pull I didn't want them to blame it on my choice of WB. Similar thing with the boost controller, the AEM one, which I don't like although it at least seems to be accurate and reliable and properly matched to the solenoid they wanted to use.

I can tell you that my final invoice was about $20,000 but to say how much the 2.2 engine costs, I don't know. There is no item on it like "complete engine". All the parts were itemized. I brought them the turbo, the Shearer exhaust parts, the intercooler kit, the motor mounts, the fuel regulator, the V3 ECM Tuning ECU fresh from ECM Tuning. They supplied the Magnus intake manifold, cams, injectors, oil pan, and just about every thing else for the engine, plus all the tuning and dyno pulls, and the 3 AEM gages. Furthermore there were some things they did that aren't on the invoice, and some things on the invoice that they didn't do! At the end, Lucas himself took care of a problem with the boost control that I noticed (!) which involved a couple more dyno pulls (so 15 dyno pulls) and took care of a couple other things that he noticed when testing the car. He never added anything to the invoice for all of that. It even included some work on the propeller shaft.
So that's the only way I know how to describe how much the engine cost sorry haha!
It was a good experience overall, they must have had a lot of hours into it, plus some expensive parts.

Searching on this forum i find only good things about Fic1650 but so i did when i bought the 2150's. Now i know i was stupid to go that big and i don't want to do it one more time. As far as i see Fic injectors are prefered over ID. I would like to get ID 1300x but is 900$ :D
You were't stupid to get injectors that big if you have plans like you said. If you look at my setup, you'd probably think I was stupid too LOL but I have the same mentality that you do: buy it once and be done with it. Plus, I heard really good things regarding idle with the 2150s as well and that's why I purchased them. Too bad I'm not having the best of luck though. I do not however regret getting these injectors whatsoever. Not yet at least :p

Back then when i got my 2150's my first choise was 1650 hi-z(old model) but they got dicontinued and i couldn't find them anymore so i got 2150's. I don't regret it too but for me they did not work. Maybe if someone with good skills in tuning would spend some time playing witg settings they might work better. I don't have the skills so i would go for another set most likely the new 1650 like i wanted in the first place.
