Well, I just finishished installing my rebuilt motor into a 1990 GSX, I can tell you you it has not been smooth. I decided to be cheap and not buy a new water pump, and it was bad, I put on a cyclone intake and didn't have the canister, etc. Well long story short is after starting the car, now with the correct intake on the car, only mod really is the 255 Walbro, and a ported/polished head. The car idles fine, although with some noticeable vibration in the car, but I don't have the tranny side mount on yet and have polyurethane mounts, but regardless, when I apply throttle the car will not seem to idle up, and bogs way down in fact. If I d/c the MAF it then will throttle better, but still not run well for obvious reasons. The reason I think it may be the Fuel filter is the car sat for a few years by the previous owner, and I tried to start the car before I knew the old fuel was completely turned to varnish, and the fuel pump looked like it was covered in rust and goo, well my question is just trying to start the car and running this crap up to the NEW filter enough to clog it, and is that maybe the problem, or is it the MAF or something else? I am leaning towards FF only because I hooked up another MAF and it still bogged down really bad, is there any reading from my datalogger that can help you guys? Thanks for any help, I just spent 18hrs on my car, so please any help is appreciated.
