I've herd people mention using free tuning software. I've googled the crap out of this subject with no luck. And any threads on here are from 7+ years ago with dead links.

So i want to know if there are any free Tuning software for 2g's still around? I realize i will need to buy cables so its not actually "free".

Any input from someone actually using/used any type of free software would be appreciated. Links would be helpful too

Nothing is completely free, you have to spend money either way you go about it. For EPROM users, you can get a chip burner (30 ~ 40$), socket your own ECU if you have the skill (5 ~ 15$), get a nice burnable EPROM (5 ~ 10$) and download tunerpro.

If you have a 98/99/EVO8 ECU, you can get a...can't remember which cable it is, OpenPort 1.3 with the flash wire or 2.0 or something rather cable, which is somewhere around $100, and get ahold of openecu and go from there.

Either way you will spend money.
