I installed my new Fuel Pressure modifier from B&M and i know i should of hooked up the gauge first but i think stock it should be around 43psi. So ive got the screw all the way loose, and i go headfirst t o my fuel filter (you know below the battery :thumbdown ) to install the gauge set.. And i sh*t you not im like 13 miles to the gallon w/ a bad 02 and w/ this new fpr, this banjo bolt is so crazy tight and just wants to break off the bracket whenever i turn. So 4:30 in the moring rolls around im pissed so i put everything back together so i could go to work in the morning, and i get on here and someone says i can hook it up in a different location, where would this be?Thanks guys- Tony :dsm:

The only other places I could think about would require the purchase of additional equipment, you can geta fuel rail with a 1/8 NPT port, or do a 6/8AN line with a FP port on that. The real AFPRs also have a port on them. The stock fuel filter is a PITA, but if you think the top Banjo bolt is hard, wait till you have to break loose the lower inverted flare fitting on the bottom. Also you are saying that you are turning the filter so hard the bracket is bending, well below the top port of the filter where the banjo bolt is you will see a little lip, between that and the actual filter is a area to place for a wrench to hold the filter in place (I belive its 19mm but dont hold me to it). The only problem is that it is a very thin opening, so you might need to grind a bit off of the face of the wrench to get good contact. Then hold that (or a friend from below) and go back to town on it.

Also the B&M FPR can only raise the FP it can not lower it by design, due to it using the base of the factory FPR and that being where the restriction is that causes a overrun condition with bigger fuel pump. I think there are some write up here about it, as well as at RRE under tech, and the VFAQ, under fuel, the its the SX FPR install artical. Read the first few paragraphs. Just thought you should know.

PB blaster also helps on stubborn bolt/nuts, maybe try it here?

Thanks for the help man. You think i should try to disconnect the fuel filter? If not i will just have to give it hella elbow grease :thumb: . I dunno I got this thing for free with the gauge so i had to install it, even if it doesnt do me any good. The gauge is just going to look funky all the way down there, but if thats what i have to do im gonna do it :dsm: - Tony

Well if it hasnt been done, replace the filter. The chiltons manual stae between 10,000-20,000 miles it should be replaced. How many miles do you have on your car? But I am letting you know, IT IS a pain in the butt. Good luck man

$10.00, go figure, if you have a shop do it they will charge about 1 hour of time, but take maybe a little longer if they have a hard time. Do a searhc for fuel filter and the word PITA. you will see the fun begin.
