A turbo is only going to flow a certain amount of air. You can put it on a 2 liter or a 10 liter, it's still only going to flow x lbs/min. Now, if the turbo is under-rated like most are, you'll outflow the rating. Yes, your 2.3 will flow more air, but the turbo isn't going to flow more than it's maximum just because you have a larger motor, it'll just top out sooner.

Yes but a 2.3 will ingest more than a 2.0 won't it. His lbs/min is measured at the MAS not at the compressor outlet right.

thats so true staytunned im still think that i will go with the FP'SS'20G or the Fp GREEN i am wantin around 450 on a stock bottom end and i dont want to blow it up even though its in good shape but the 20g would be a good turbo fur around 450 right i have a EVoIIIb16g with about 330

in the case of dsm stroker's vs non stroker's, they do have the capacity to process more air at a lower rpm but with valva springs and retainers you can wind out a non stroked motor just the same to compensate.

The way I see it, It's all about piston speed. Assuming the proper head work has been done, a non stroked motor turning 8k is moving about the same speed as a stroked motor, because the speeds are the same, I think it means that both engines have the same capacity to perform the same amount of work.

Mirage, correct me if I'm wrong...

450 at the crank right? Cause 450 at the wheels is pushing it for stock bottom end IMHO.

so 450 at least 375 -400 at the wheels fur me thats how i see it so 450 is pushin the stoick block to far right.. so im pretty sure that the 20G would be enuff to make over 4 then or should the Fp green be better off
:talon:

Motor size has no effect on how much air a turbo can flow, once it's reached it's limit, it can't flow anymore no matter what size motor it's on.

It just looks like FP under rated it abit, maybe they should adjust that ;)

More modestly 340 to 350 at the wheels with 25% loss through tranny ( which is not an exact science of course) . I would think you need at least a TD06H 20G or maybe the 50 trim (green). But the green for sure would do it.

That's exactly what I said.

so then the green would be the way to go then right? its a 50 trim and a proven performer so i thank yall fur the info and also does the green bolt right up to the stock 02 housin

why would you spend the money on a green when you can buy an fp3052 for less and it will spool quicker and make more power?

by the way 2g motors have made 550 to the wheels with stock internals.

The Green itself may be $50 more than the FP3052 but it's doesn't require a $400 Tial40/44mm external W/G (internal included in Green's price) or $200-400 custom O2 Housing.

Just thought I'd mention this as many people have budgets in mind when upgrading and need all the facts :thumb:

As for power.. do a search for "Green" on DSMTimes. Whoa.. lot of hits in the 11sec range :D

Wrong. It's MUCH more expensive setting up an FP 3052 than a Green. Maybe you should go look at the DSMTimes page and see how "slow" FP Green turboed cars really are. :thumb:

the fp3052, essentially a gt30r is rated at a max of 52lbs min

how are you pulling 55lbs min on pump gas?

Probably boost leaks increasing the airflow number. That would be near 500whp. Not doubting you, but it's quite hard, I've only heard of one 52 over 500wheel, and well it's not a walk in the park.

do it right the first time. Internal wastgate setups dont even compare to external wastgates. I am well aware that people have made the times with the green its a good turbo for what it is but the fp30 will make MORE power everything else the same.

i can understand that '1fast97gsx' but when u port ur head and put bigger cams and bore the block ur providin more power so in al lthe end ur gettin more grunt to push the turbo if im correct... i jsut was wondering should i get a built block and head with 272 cams for the FP3052 i think that it would be better off in a snese since '1fast ' i would be able to redline higher with a built block right?!!! longer power band since the FP3052 doesnt hit full spool on a a stock motor till like 4 grand right? jsut a few facts i was wantin to find out.. So u dont think that lag would be a problem with a stock motor with a FP3052?
Actually porting the head and putting HKS 272s will cause the car to build boost slower initially.

For a 2g maybe. I know of several people with more than 10k on their stock bottom ends while pushing over 525whp. A guy I know has over 130k on his long block and does it.

The 3052 is superior, though more expensive, than the green and 20g, it will meet and exceed your expectations, go with it.

My point is that for a full FP3052 setup you're looking to spend ~2K. For the same price (or less) you could be looking at a full custom Garrett Setup from AGP or AMS with an infinite # of wheel/housing combinations :thumb:

i dont see why you want something that spools so quickly, your front wheel drive. You would think something laggy would be the way to go. A 2.3 is a great motor but it still produces more torque which will cause you to spin forever. You can have a 11 setup but if you can get it to pavement your still slow.
