Has anyone bought this MHI 20G turbo from forced performance? What do i need to do to install this setup properly? And what the deal with the plate welded over the wastegate exit? I want to run this internally wastegated...

What 20g are you referring to? Could you post a link?

If the the wastegate flap is welded shut it's setup for an external wastegate off the manifold.

Yes that is the exact turbo im talking about.... im not a noob either im just new to the site and it wouldnt let me post anywhere else but ive been messing with dsm's for 8 years this my 8th one LOL ive just never ran a 20g setup i want to be able to keep A/C and all those other nice factory options figured this was the way to go and it was a hell of a deal LOL... i have all supporting mods i should have listed them in the post they just havent been installed supporting mods are walboro 255, precision, 850cc injectors, magnus motorsports fuel rail, 3" GM MAF, DSM link V3, ets 10.5" front mount intercooler, full 3" greddy turbo back exhaust, fp performance t3 manifold, and punishment racing reciculating O2 housing.... the only thing im missing is a wideband.. my question is that i want to run this 20g internally wastegated until i can externally do it in the future i know i have to clock the turbine housing down and drill and tap a hole to mount the wastegate but whats up with the plate welded over the hole above the wastegate flapper? And the flapper is not welded shut it free flapping.....oh and im also using the 10cm housing that came on the turbo when i bought it... ill post pics tomorrow of the turbo

If you have an fp manifold it's not flanged for a t3 turbine housing. You will need to pick up either an fp turbine housing, or a 7cm mhi td05h housing. You'll also need to fab up a bracket, and drill some holes to mount an internal wastegate actuator. I ran the same turbo on my old talon a couple years back.

I have the t3 adapter plate for the manifold i guess i just need to locate a o2 housing cause the one i have does not work LOL...any suggestions? And is that plate welded over the waste gate passage ok to be left out in the open like that?
