fp green hta inlet size question

So I have an injen intake and just picked up an fp green hta. Will a 2-1/4 to 3" reducer fit between or does it need to be 3-1/4?

If its the fiber/silicone coupler it probably won't stretch enough to fit. A regular silicone coupler will stretch.
Why run such a small intake on that large of a turbo inlet?

84mm = 3.30709 inches

3.25 silicone coupler will stretch to fit like mentioned above.

I'm assuming this is only temporary- I wouldn't recommend using a 2.25" intake on a turbo with a 3.25" inlet on the cover due to the restrictive nature.

Other then the size restriction, what other issues would this cause?

Restrictive intakes can add to the thrust wear in the turbo.

Why not cut the entire bottom elbow off the Injen intake then use a 3" 45* fitting to connect it to the turbo?

The 1" difference would add that much wear? and couldn't it be said the same about the restriction added by the filter and maf? Which Im sure adds more restriction then the pipe does.
