Hi, after previously owning 2 1G N/A Eclipses, I'm getting another one. This time it's a 2G N/A. This car is pristine! I'm buying it from a lady I work with, it's a one owner, silver '98 GS, 5-speed, moonroof, leather, all power options, only 19k miles! Also...it has NEVER had any mods done to it, totally stock, and not a scratch anywhere! 2G's in this nice of shape are getting tough to find, so I had to jump on it, even though it is only a lowly N/A.

Anyway, after I drive the car, the first thing I notice is, the stock shifter really sucks. Are there any decent shifters out there? I couldn't find any listed on this site. Also...it's definately not a very powerful car! Is there any simple bolt-on's that make a noticeable difference on the N/A cars, or should I just leave it stock and be happy to be driving a great looking, comfortable car, even if it is dreadfully underpowered. OMG One thing I DON'T want to get is a loud exhaust, I put one on my first 1G and the engine drone at highway speeds was awful! Any quiet exhaust systems that are a worthwhile upgrade?

Thanks for any suggestions!

Dont buy it. Spend the cash on a turbo dsm. You will thank yourself later.

I'm buying this one, it's in too good of shape to pass up. Really nice turbos aren't easy to find anymore, and I already have a car if I wanna go out and burn some rubber. Just hoping to get a few suggestions to improve the N/A if there are any. If not...I can deal with the lack of power, it's just gonna be my daily commuter, not my dragster. :D

I say it's a good grab. You're way ahead on running and repair costs, and with that mileage it's a brand-new car.

Get a B&M shifter. They're worth the money. I think RRE still has the best price on them, or within five bucks of whoever does.
