Run 008 was a baseline as the car rolled in off the street, basically 15psi or so of boost. Run 013 was the stock actuator with the boost turned up to spike to 17psi and drop to around 12psi. Run 023 is the New 17psi actuator running a steady 17psi until about 6000rpm where the limitation of the turbo is reached, it falls to 15psi about here and stays at 15psi the rest of the RPM band

This actuator is manufactured by FP to be a direct bolt-on replacement for the factory actuator - with two extra features. These actuators aren't like anything anyone has ever seen before because we just made them!

1. Higher spring pressure to prevent flapper blow open. Factory is 11psi, this one is 17psi.

2. Adjustable rod end to allow some flexibility in boost setting.

Other than these two points, its exactly like the factory actuator. It's the same shape, size, color, and the nipple is in the exact same place. It looks completely factory.

The most common problem among stock T25 cars is flapper blow open in the upper RPM range. Using this heavier spung actuator helps prevent unwanted flapper opening under high boost situations while at the same time allowing for stable 17psi pressure setting when needed for daily use.

Any turbo that has been fitted with a DSM T25 style actuator can benifit from this high pressure actuator, FPBig28, FPT2828, other generic T28's even Big28 Killas can enjoy the benefits of this improved actuator!

Sounds like this $99 can help a T25 hold boost to about 6000RPM, not bad for the money.

nope except you can't really Turn it down that much either...

you can't go back to stock boost unless you swap back...

Who wants 9psi anyways ? :barf:

Nice review. I believe I can hold about 14-15 psi with the FP17 psi wastegate actuator without tightening the rod. T25 and T28 turbos need the higher pressure wastegate actuator because they run a fairly large size wastegate valve from the factory, a good size bigger than any stock 16g. This doesn't help in holding high pressure and is probably the main reason T28s rarely if ever boost creep. Definitely required if you want to make some decent power, good bang for the buck too.

umm who said 9 psi was stock boost?

last I saw it was sitting purty at 12psi even with a stupid 2g bov. ony way you are getting 9 stock is massive leaks or your BCS is engaged from massive knock or CEL

adn if you had to return to stock injectors (safc got stolen/broken, injector went bad and you have to drive to work no matter what) for any reason... yes you would want to be able to turn the boost back down more than 1 psi, particularly on a Bigt28

Overall though it does look like a good deal... anyone know exactly HOW low it can go?

17psi? On stock injectors, isn't that unsafe? Now I know why this fp28 on my recently purchased 97gsx boosts no lower than 17psi! This sucks. I'm trying to run a nice and safe 15psi. So you are saying that without swapping my actuator, im SOL?

I have an AGP T28 (ported exhaust housing) and I have whatever wastegate those come with. I believe theyre the OEM T25 wastegate. I did a 3rd gear pull today and I was sitting at 14psi all the way to redline, and Im running straight wastegate....no boost controller. Im also on the completely stock fuel system. I was thinking about getting this wastegate, but that also means I can never turn down the boost if I needed to. Im happy with what I have right now, but its great to know that it does its job. Nice review.

My T28 or sorts runs awesome at 21lbs daily and holds 20lbs til over 7000. But then again it's not really a T28 anymore.

^^^

I run the same boost with the same results, with this FP actuator. Those are some good numbers off a T28 you have there. Mine is only yielding about 300whp I think. Hopefully dsmlink and water/meth injection will help squeeze out a bit more performance once I install them.
