I am wanting to wire the fog lights so that they will not only come on with the low beams, but also with the side markers in light switch position 1. I was just wondering how many people out there have done that to a 2G and where you chose to make the splice in at or what you did.......just looking for some better ideas than mine.
thanx,

And how does that housing come apart to access the bulb? I have pulled the front apart and briefly looked at it, but do not see the access to where the bulb is replaced at.

There is a single bolt holding the fog lamp in place, to the right hand corner on the driver's side, reverse on passenger, as you face the nose of the car. It is probably rusted tight to the car, so best of luck trying to get it off, I recommend geting anti-thread lock stuff (forget the name). Replace the bolt with a SS bolt to replace it or use some antseaze on on a regular bolt. The housing will will then slide to the right side and you can pull it out. On the bottom of the housing are 4 small phillips head screws. Remove them and it will open up to the bulb. Be careful not to touch the bulb with your fingers while installing a new one or messing around in the housing. If you do, clean the bulb with rubbing alcohol. I hope that helps.

Thanx man......i can figure out the wiring and all, i was just wondering if anyone has done that because the way i am going to do it is not the "correct" way a lot of people would consider, but i don't really care, so it's all good. thanx

Yeah, its pretty simple. Just tap the wires in with the turing signal. Not to much more with it. Good luck and I hope you like the result. :thumb:

That sounds good i did it tomy my friends 2g and we jsut tapped into the turn signal and the power and it worked fine im still trying to figure out how to do it to my 1g it seems different if anyone knows how to it would help.....good luck with your setup "jhines"

THis has been posted all across the net since 1996.

and the one for parking lights on with highbeams works great too.

All together it should take you less than 30 minutes to do both.

yes, B/c a 97 IS the same as a 99.

Works excellent. Suggestion, instead of 1/2 fuse use a spade terminal. for the fogs with park mod.

There is another on vfaq that shows teh relay for a 97+ (has 2 below the used pin instead of 1)

ok.. so i bought the inline fuse holder, and spade terminals...

im not exactly electronically inclined... but.. tell me if im wrong in my assumptions

connect one end of the fuse holder to pin #4 on the taillight relay, and the other end into any empty fuse slot??
edit: back into the foglight fuse

for some reason this just doesnt make any sense why it'd work

sure it does. instead of sourcing power only when the headlights are on you are getting it from the taillights.

SO now when ever teh park lights are on, the foglights can be too.

i ended up getting a fuse holder with wiring about 8x too large... and had to strip some of the interior wires... :-\
on the other end i crimped on a spade terminal
then crimped both of the leads into one.. and shoved it into the right side of the fuse socket....

jumped in the car, and switched it over only to see my dad in awe of what $5 could do for a car

thanks for your help ~Attack Eagle
