Hey i was wondering is there any other option other then an FMU or can i use a SAFC? or nething else? also i am running a 20g off of 4psi. if that helps?
Thnx
Terry

you can do other things. is your fuel pump upgraded? there is a guy here with a walbro 255, 550 injectors and a safc II. he runs a little rich but it works. you can to a afpr setup as well. or a sfmu. there are many options. i have a fmu right now and it works fine. i just got a used sfmu of ebay and am waiting to get a wideband before i install that bad boy.

the fmu is good up to 9 psi. you don't tune a wideband you tune with a wideband. it is a accurate air fuel gauge.
What do i tune the wideband with is what i ment LOL
Thnx

I'm going to here it for this but...I am using the 4g63 Fuel setup with a walbro 255lph pump

450cc's
4g Fuel rail mounted to my intake manifold
and the DSM FPR which will be fine tuned with an AFC and Wideband o2 :thumb:

But thats my .02

I let everyone know on Friday. I beleive im the first* but I could be wrong. The mechanic that is doing it is convinced that it will be rich. He has been working on DSM's since they have been out and knows A/F like the back of his hand. He tuned 800hp supras so he knows a thing or two about turbo setups and tuning. Everyone says I need an FMU but If it doesnt work he will buy me one but I don't think it will happen. The DSM FPR is 1:1 and most FMU's are 12:1 I believe and as said in this forum FMU's are only good for 9 psi so Im boosting 10 psi anyways. :dsm:

your not the first to use bigger injectors and a 255 fuel pump. that is an acceptable way to turbo a N/A car. Hondas do it all the time. There is a guy here using a walbro fuel pump and 550cc injectors on a dsm. He has a SAFC II and it runs ok. I think he is at 10 psi on a built bottom end. I ran him and I was faster at 8 psi and just a fmu. or i was the better driver.

its a 2g 420a. i don't know a bunch about fuel systems yet but think about it this way. your ecu is made to control 195cc(?) or close to that injectors and you are going to use 550cc. i think it will be hard to tune without a sfmu or something like that. with injectors that big i don't think you want to use a 12:1 fmu you need a better controller than that. Good luck and i hope you get it to work. tell us how it turns out.

actually im gonna go with 450cc's but I do understand your comment. Megasquirt is probably in my future. :thumb:

i have the vortec fmu on my turbonetics kit. it makes me run rich but since i ran rich it tripped my o2 sensor now i run even richer. so now i have to buy a fpr and a/f gauge. so i suggest going for manuel fpr and save the trouble and you can always adjust unlike the fmu. :thumb:

wow thats a old thread.

mustang injectors fit into our cars nicely. Just pick up some 440cc mustang injectors and it should carry you right where you want to be.
