Just curious what u guys who have already set your fuel system up fot a turbo setup thought was better, the vortech FMU or aeromotive FPR?

I have the AFPR because if you decide to get bigger inj's it is eaiser to adjust than the FMU
IE.
your stock inj's are 190cc @ 12:1 ratio @ 8psi with the FMU your fuel pressure will be 96psi
if you are using the AFPR with 190cc @ 1:1 @ 8psi you will have to have a static pressure of 88psi and that is alot static pressure at idle

BUT

If you got bigger inj's let's say 450cc @ 12:1 ratio with the fmu @ 8psi that will be 96 psi that might be too much fuel for that size inj.

If you have 450cc @ 1:1 ratio with the AFPR @ 8psi you can just adjust the pressure to lower you static pressure so you won't have too much pressure @ 8psi with that size inj's

If you plan on getting bigger inj's the AFPR will be better because with the FMU if you decide to rise you boost to 10psi @ 12:1 that is 120psi way too much pressure with the AFPR you can adjust it very easy. How many people know how to recalabrite a FMU

Also if you just plan on staying stock inj's and 8psi the FMU will be fine

i think a FMU vortex 12:1 would be alot easier to use because for every psi into the engine the fmu will regulat more gas into the engine by itself

Yes the FMU is alot eaiser if you want to stay at 12:1 8psi and never change it BUT once you start turning up the boost the fuel pressure goes way up
Also I know they sell a re-calibrating kit BUT do you know how or know anyone who know's
Let's say you have the FMU and drive to the track at 8psi @ 12:1 = 96psi ok for driving so once you get to the track you want to turn up the boost to 20psi @ 12:1 = 240psi "is that possible to have that much fuel pressure?'' so you have to re-calibrate it to let's say 20psi @ 5:1 = 100psi that's ok
BUT are you going to take apart the FMU and re-disk it to 5:1 and THEN turn it back to 12:1 @ 8psi for the ride home.
I have a FMU and a re-calibration kit and all the kit is, is a bunch of disk that I have no idea of what to do with
NOW that is why I say go with the AFPR because it is alot eaiser to use and adjust

If you are sticking with 4 injectors, then you want to get the Vortech SFMU. The FMU is OK at best. and the SFMU is better, because it has more adjustability of the fuel ratio via, more disks, base idle screw, and the optional bleed valve.

If you want to go with the 8 injector setup, then a Aeromotive FPR 1:1 would suit you best.
