i have a 97 eclipse 420a turbo and my fuel system is a walbro 255 and a 12:1 vortec fmu. the stock fpr is in the back by the fuel pump and it is very hard to find a good place to mount the fmu. i have it mounted now but it is to low for my tast so i want to move it under the hood. can my return line be that long or will it mess something up?can i use standard fuel hose to run under the car or do i have to use braided line? or is there a good place to mount the fmu that i can't find?
thanks to all

The return line length will not matter. I actually have my return line off the test port on my fuel rail with a steel tube that runs under the car. The same thing that the brake lines are made of that run underneath. As for mounting it under the hood good luck if you have cruise control. I still havent found a good spot i want to put it on my firewall. I think i will be removing the cruise control so i can mount it in the upper passanger side.

I'm mounting my FMU on the pass side fire wall above the alternator up high beside the intake which will give me a short run to the rail but a long run for the return (using stainless steel trailer brake line that you can buy by the foot at any NAPA store)I also have a OBX intake which gives me a little more room.

umm.... why would you run a line from the fmu to the fuel rail??? the vortec fmu runs between the stock fpr and the return to the tank. or is there another way to mount it? you guys using that steel brake line how did you bend it? did you run to just under the hod and then use reg. fuel line? why could i not just use steel braided fuel line?

You can have the line long, youll be fine. You need to ensure you are running fuel injector hose and not standard fuel line. It doesn't have to be braided unless you want to spend the extra money.

I mounted my SFMU (when I had one) above the cruise control in the engine compartment. Its best to place it on the passenger side because thats where the fuel lines are anyway.

i replaced my steering wheel when my airbag blew(hit a guard rail on a wet day in texas) so i should just get rid of that black cc box huh? is it hard to take off? i don't know how it really works.
what is the difference between fuel injector hose and fuel line?

You can get rid of the cruise control. Fuel injector hose is meant to take high pressure while regular fuel line hose is meant for low pressure. You could either burst a line or saturate it. Either one is not good.

My AFPR is under my hood and I used -6an fittings and lines
So I ran my own return line from under my hood to my take and had no problem

Im gonna need to soak up all this info, im trying to get my turbo in by april 30th. Now i was wondering.. they have Fuel Pressure regulators that can increase fuel pressure by 2wice as much as the factory pressure. Will that be enough fuel to boost about 6 or 7 lbs?
