what is the difference of short routing and the regular way?

Regular routing of the intercooler piping goes under the alt. and out and around the radiator support. short route piping, you have to cut out the D shaped hole in the radiator supports and the piping runs through those holes. for a 1g this usually means loosing power steering and maybe a/c. i dunno about a 2g.
