Anyone tell me a size of intercooler that would fit on the front of a 91 GSX without cuting the supports?
I was thinking that a 27"x6.5"3.5" - 29"x6.5"x3.5" with 2.5 in and 2.5 out

I am running a 16G with evo O2 housing.

SBR street core.
Im on a budget build.

Im looking into an ebay core

I want to know dimintions that will fit in without any cuting. And i do not want to have any more then an inch of my core restricted of air flow.

Or please enlighten me on a good cosmetic look of choping of the 1G supports/ect.. for bigger core.

I personaly think a 12" high core is way OVERKILL!(not very efficient to the sceam of things)

For a 16g yes a really big fmic may seem overkill but I owuld be that you upgrade sooner or later and then that big fmic begins to look like a good investment. less than a year ago I had a 14 thinkin that was the end to all and I was fast. I now run a SBR GT14 and full supporting MODS along with a ebay 31x12x4 fmic. I just totaly removed the back and front bumper supports for weight reduction reasons.

Where can i find some example picture of how this looks, and where the IC piping is ran.

Also, is'nt shep running a smaller FMIC and running well above 700hp...
just my thoughts.

no shep runs methanol and so much nitrous, the need for any air cooling after the turbo is pointless, as with the above fuels, the air is cooled to almost below ambient by the time it reaches the cylinders.

but on a 1g you want a longer core that isnt tall. not only will it be better for cooling(since all fins are exposed, and the air travels longer through the fmic, resulting in air that has longer period exposed to the fmic to cool down), but it will also fit great in a 1g front opening.

look for a 30x12x3 core or something close to that(measure your front opening to see how long of a fmic will fit in there).

btw good choice on ebay cores, you wont be dissapointed.

The front stock opening on my car measurers...

From the side of radiator where my ic pipes will go to is
29" across

The height from bottom of bumper opening to where the support starts is 5.25" high.

And the depth without removing the cooling line and mounting bracket is about 3". If i take that out I could get 3.5"

So i am left with a stock fit of

29"x5.25"x3.5"
