2G FMIC install problem

I recently installed Hahns Racecraft FMIC. Everything is stock, except for the atmospheric BOV (car came with it), but before fmic install the car would idle good and spool quick. After installing the fmic the car got laggy and wont spool up quick and at 4-5 K the car seems to want to stop revving.

Did this problem occur because the FMIC is too big for the small t-25 to push all the air through it? Or should I be looking for some other problems?

Did you check for boost leaks?

I did. Couldn't find any. Only way to be sure would be to do a boost leak test. But before doing that I wanted to know if anyone has had a similar problem.

I tried searching for a problem similar to mine but could't find it. I also went with a cone filter instead of the stock air filter since the piping for the intercooler would't let me keep the stock one, but I don't think that's an issue since it is before the MAF.

Not that it is the problem but I've seen intakes and filters mess with maf readings on other cars. I was reading a d sport mag and they tested a bunch of intakes and showed how some of them messed with a/f ratios and maf readings so be careful.

It's a boost leak. Learn to do a boost leak test. Many threads on how to do one and make the tester.

Yea sounds like a boost leak, I just put a FMIC on a pretty much stock setup and had similar issues. How did you check for boost leaks? I don't see how you can without a boost leak tester, one can be made for $15-20.

I tried blowing smoke through it but I don't smoke so maybe that's a problem on itself haha. Ordered one for 15 bucks, should be arriving soon.
