toronto,
Just fired up my rebuilt ported etc 6bolt last night, running beautiful already, so now it's time to get some basics into the car. I'm running 10pounts on my 16g atm, and i'm looking into FMCI's. So far, all the FMIC's include removing the bumber support from the car, I'm a bit skeptic about that for 1 reason. Somehow, I tend to be the retard magnet, and have had people reverse into the front of my car 4 times now, all times when my car was just parked, and all times I stood there watching in awe. So, if I remove the bumber support, the next time this happens ( I hope that it doesn't however), that person is going to crush my FMIC, and ###### the radiator and whatever else. My main concern is that the bumper cover cant hold much pressure w/o the support, so even the lightest hit might reach a FMIC.

Main question, is there an alt. route to a FMIC w/o the removal of the bumber support, has anyone seen anything like it, if so, where for sale or any info would be appreciated.?

Tks in advance.

Are you sure you have to completely remove the bumper support for all these kits? I know with the 2g with most kits you dont have to completely remove the support, just cut a notch out of it so the core fits up into it. I run a 10" tall core and only had to cut a notch about 2" deep out of the bottom.

In most cases if you can find any kind of core that is 7-8" tall then there shouldn't be any cutting of the bumper support necessary. My core is 7" tall and I bolted it to the bottom of the bumper support and my bumper cover hangs lower than the intercooler itself. Shop around for kits and look at the dimensions or look through the classifieds. You can always email the company/seller to see if it would require cutting the support or not. Hope that helps.

I used to have a Buschur street core and I only had to notch the bumper. I have since went to the massive Slowboy race core and had to eliminate the bumper all together.
