Well ive asked this before but got mixed responses.... My clutch is slipping really bad so im replacing it with an ACT 2600. Now i have an Brand New EXEDY Chromoly Steel Flywheel that weighs in at 12lbs. I bought it off dsmtrader, its brand new never been used. Now Can i use this aftermarket Flywheel with the ACT 2600???? Ive heard most aftermarket flywheels are already STEPPED to the correct height. On the Exedy website they sell this flywheel for like 500+. im just wondering if it is stepped. It is made for 95-99 turbo awd 7bolt dsms if that helps.

If you do not know, get it checked. You DON'T want to take everything apart again just to fix that.

It'll work fine. Just take it down to a local machine shop, NAPA, etc. and have the step height measured to be sure. 0.608" to 0.613" is the range you want, and you'd be better to stay away from the extremes in that range; stock step is 0.612", and RRE claims the ideal range is 0.608" to 0.610".

Let us know what you think of the flywheel. I don't think I've seen a review for the Exedy lightweights yet.
