flywheel after new clutch install

do i need a new flywheel since im replacing the whole clutch assembly?

Well, there's not really a straight answer to this. If your old one is in good shape -- no excessive wear, no burn-through heat marks, etc...then yes, i'd just get it resurfaced, and have it stepped to .608. You don't want to see any deep surface cracking either.

Best bet, since you're gonna be in there anyway installin' that clutch, go ahead and upgrade the flywheel. There's no better time to do it than now.

Like said above, you don't need to buy a new clutch unless your flywheel now is damaged. If its not damaged have it stepped an resurfaced at a transmission shop.

I was going to get a light weight fly wheel but I think im just going to buy an new oem flywheel. Im not a big fan of the Rpms dropping so fast.

I was going to get a light weight fly wheel but I think im just going to buy an new oem flywheel. Im not a big fan of the Rpms dropping so fast.

Then get an ACT one. It is between the heavy stock one and the insanely light ones.

I am also about to put in my new clutch and flywheel, act 2600 with an act streetlite flywheel. Its 11.6 lbs, and the oem one is 19lbs, so you will feel a difference, but it won't be like most other flywheels that are around 8-10lbs, but again it is preference, thats just what i'd recommend.

so can i use lets say act2100 pressure plate with a otherwise stock rest of the clutch? sorry im a newb thanks for the help....so basiclly a act2100 instead of a street disk????
