flooding under excelleration?

I know im probly in the wrong forum but i wanted advise from n/t guys and i wasnt quite sure where to post cause i havnt been on here for a while. anyways, I drive a '94 eclipse GS 5spd and it has a very inconsistant idle, then under anything over light throttle it acts likes it flooding out, but if you back the pedal off to about 1/4 it will clear up. I have checked the TPS and the timing, both seem to be fine. Would this be most likely something in the fuel delivery system or electronics? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Miles

spark plug wires or coil pack. try those. it could still be getting air but no spark which would act like flooding

A couple of months ago my MAF went out and caused it to flood really bad. Even in neutral, I couldn't rev past 4-5000 rpms without it spitting and sputtering. Replaced it, and was back to normal. If this is similar to your problems, check that out as well.

Also check for vaccume leaks. Especially after the MAF. My intake popped off one time and i couldnt rev past 3k with the thing floored.

thanks guys for your responses, I dont think it the coil pack because i checked for spark on all cylinders and they looked fine, i've tried my CAI and my stock intake and that didn't make a difference, I'm pretty much set on either a bad TPS, a bad mas, or something in fuel delivery. Im taking her into the shop tonight and ill let them figure it out because im running short on time.

Does your CAI have a mas air flow sensor? Some cheap intakes don't have one and that will cause you problem right there. I bought a cheap ebay intake once that didn't have a MAS and my car ran just like how you descibed. If it does have a MAS in it it is probably bad or there is a short in the wires conecting to the MAS.
