Flex Pipe cracked

I have the Apexi N1 exhaust downpipe back, (not sure if its 2 1/2 or 3 need to measure it) but the flex pipe is cracked on top...

Well problem is called a muffler shop told'em my dilemma and was told 250... well get the hell out of here...

Could I use a megan 2.5 down pipe with no issues? or is there a cheaper one I could use?

Check around to more places, my flex section broke and I got it replaced for $60. Look for a small independent muffler shop, not a big chain or place that does all kinds of auto repair.

That's what I did... maybe I'll try Mavis tires tomorrow... most places need to see it to give me a estimate.. so guess I should measure the length of flex pipe and size and then give a call.

Guess i'll just get the OBX downpipe off ebay hope it isn't too cheaply made

If you haven't bought anything yet, you may want to check Summit Racing - they sell flex sections in different lengths and diameters and seems to be holding up well. I bought one for my wife's DD as hers was rotted away. Local muffler shop charged $20 to cut off the old one and weld in the new one - I made sure the replacement was a little longer. Total cost of replacement was around $55.

Thats a good deal just buy a new piece of flex for around 20-30 and have it welded in

There are also clamp-in flex sections available in various sizes if you're unable to weld.

Going to have to check into this like tomorrow, inspection runs out this month and as I said last local no big name muffler shop said 180 - 200 ! .. Maybe if I get the flex my self and ask them to weld it on it should be that 20 - 30$ cost.
