Fixing and Preventing Crankwalk

Well I finally found a Beautiful 97 Gsx. I'm Now a proud owner . I drove it home about 150miles and BAM The crank walked. Im just kidding. I would of broke down like a little school girl. Anyway, Im kind of worried about crankwalk happening to me. I'll treat my baby with tons of respect. I just don't want her hurt. So, Im saying should I just get the Bearings replaced with new improved ones before anything possibly could happen. Or will that not be worth it. I Figure it will prevent it from happening if it ever does. What do you smart individuals have for me. Thanx

Any motor can walk... some more then others, replacing bearings wont prevent it from happening but cant say it will help in this case as well. Some people get lucky and beat the shi* out of there 7bolt motor and nothing ever happens and then theres some out there that baby it and it walks while there far away from home Anyway if ur looking to get rid of the dreaded crankwalk dont, its a 50/50 chance on it walking anyway..... what most of us do is if and when she does decide to walk just drop in a 6bolt motor. i know that probably wont help you any but thats my $.02

Take the time you're using worrying about CW, and devote it to showing card tricks to your dog. It will be better-spent.

If you ever get crankwalk, repair it then.

true dat . My first 7-bolt motor lasted 165K miles with no walk. Im on my second 7 bolt (only cause i got a great deal on it)
