First timing job did I mess up

So I get everything together, let it idle for a little bit. Sounds great, then I go to tighten the alternator bracket down. I get the belt pretty tight then I got to start it again, it starts sounding like it is camming hard then I give it a little gas and it cuts. I turn it over again thinking its just bogged down.... no start. Could over-tightening my alternator cause enough stress to make the timing belt skip a tooth? I am going to check timing tomorrow, seems like I might have to redo timing. On top where the belt is it seems that the belt is sort of loose? it wasnt like that b4 i tightened the alternator down.

Hope i didn't bend any of my valves.

Tightening the alternator won't make it jump time. If you didn't set the tensioner right than it could jump time. If the timing is off enough to make the car not run than you will have bent valves.
